TRACK REVIEW: Wanted Undead by Fangslinger

Fangslinger has returned with their most explosive and cinematic track yet! With this release, the band continues to carve out a distinct sonic identity, blending cinematic storytelling with razor‑sharp musicianship and a flair for the theatrics.

Wanted Undead rides in like a dust‑choked storm - equal parts outlaw ostentation and ferocious modern rock oozing from the seams.

The track opens with a Western soundscapes style vocal line before heading into a punchy swinging riff, which accents the rest of the song brilliantly. Our male vocalist Fangslinger (yes, personas, and yes, cool as hell) taking the lead in the verse, matching the guitars momentum with a snarling charisma, before the prominent voice of Bloodrose fills in the bridge, switching quickly from a strong country vibe to a low and sultry timbre. The phrasing is sharp, the attitude unmistakable from both.

The chorus is booming like a cannonade, the melismatic vocal run from before back in action, pairing with a wall of punchy guitar. I must note as well, the rhythm section is not to be ignored. It’s tight and relentless with a swinging feel, making it that much easier to bop your head along.

We now drop into a brief quiet section, highlighting that backing vocal again paired with a crisp high hat and a reverberating kick drum, just a little breather before propelling into a hell of a crescendo, with a ‘WANTED UNDEAAAAAAD’ soaring into the sky from Fangslinger, tailed by a full‑throttle tour de force guitar solo by Hangman.

The video itself is a great watch, amplifying the track. High‑contrast, desaturated cinematography and moody lighting lean into the Western motif, while the presence of the Velvet Outlaw - a masked, long‑haired figure - adds enigmatic flair.

Overall, Wanted Undead is a vivid ride. This experience makes me feel like getting on a horse and riding off into a blood‑red sunset (not that I’ve ever ridden one mind you), feeling victorious and unkillable. I’m in high hopes that their debut album Welcome to the Lost Souls Saloon (releases April 18th) is just as good!
