Track Review: Shattered Mirror by motions
Emerging from the industrial heart of Teesside, metal band motions are releasing another banger in just a couple days!
Shattered Mirror is a blistering descent into emotional chaos, where the band peel back the polish and let the pain bleed through. Opening with a wall of riffs and a rhythm section hitting hard, you can hear the influences that the band love, such as Deftones and Knocked Loose.
Syncopated down tuned melodies and tight, punch-heavy drums driving the aggression, with the easy blend of clean and shouting vocals, I’m loving the dynamic contrast throughout, while still capturing the classic sound. You can feel Vocalist Jonny’s wounded and defiant delivery of these lines.
Right towards the end of the track, you’ve got the lingering tantalising note, prepping you for that last filthy breakdown.
It’s clear to see why they’ve been selected previously to play with bands such as Caskets, Graphic Nature and thrown. This new track is unrelentless – from the glass sharp intro to the final earth-shaking breakdown, this captures the bands command effortlessly. Keep your eye on these lads because they’re coming and hitting damn hard!
Shattered Mirror releases on 23rd September.
